Mike Mbanza, Esq.
Executive Director & Immigration Attorney
Since 2011, Mike has provided Immigration Legal Services and representation for nonimmigrants and immigrants, including refugees and asylum seekers, before the Department of Homeland Security and in immigration courts as a BIA Accredited and later as an Attorney. Mike provides legal advice and helps his clients remain in the United States lawfully by obtaining a legal status. He also provides presentations and immigration workshops in different communities on various immigration topics. Mike earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Iowa and a Juris Doctor’s Degree from Western Michigan University. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Johnson County Bar Association, and he attends conferences at the Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers. Mike is licensed in the State of Iowa and is admitted to practice in Iowa State Courts, United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa, United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and all Immigration Courts in the United States. Mike also serves on the board of different nonprofit organizations in the community.
Dr. Andrew Keller is Executive Board Secretary for Path of Hope, having joined the Organization in 2013. He has a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Iowa and ten years of experience in IT as a Database Development professional.
Sianei Gbleehai, Esq.
Sianei Gbleehai is an Immigration Attorney with a passion for the clients she serves. She is a licensed member of the Washington, D.C Bar Association as well as the American Immigration Lawyers Association (A.I.L.A). Sianei has experience representing immigration clients all over the United States on various simple and complex matters.
Immigration Legal Services Coordinator
Elsa is our Legal Immigration Services Coordinator. Serving refugees and immigrants is her passion. She is fluent in Spanish and English.
Immigration Legal Services
Jolita joined Path of Hope as a Legal Assistant in 2022, and she works out of our Ottumwa’s office. She has earned an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Business Specialist Accounting from Indian Hills Community Co Kirkwood Community College, and she is fluent in French, Lingala, Tshiluba, and English.
General Office Clerk (Volunteer)
Divine is our General Office Clerk. She joined Path of Hope as a volunteer. She speaks English, French, Lingala, Zulu, and Swahili. She is responsible for performing the general recordkeeping and communication activities required to keep an office functioning. Her duties include filing and organizing records, distributing memos throughout an office, and scheduling appointments. etc.
Refugee & Immigration Services Coordinator
Jacques is our Refugee & Immigration Services Coordinator. He joined Path of Hope as a RefugeeRISE AmeriCorps member in 2017. Jacques has bachelor’s degree in theology and pastors an African Church on Sundays.
Refugee and Immigration Services Coordinator
Patrick is our Refugee & Immigration Services Coordinator. He oversees the case management services to refugees and related individulas provides supervision to AmeriCorps members in the program. Patrick speaks English, Swahili, Kirundi, Kinyarwanda, Kinyamurenge and French.
Marlyne is our finance Coordinator. She joined Path of Hope in 2021, and she attends Kirkwood Community College. Marlyne speaks French, Lingala, and English.
Bill is our volunteer, and he assists with day-to-day operations of the office. He is passionate about helping people in need. Bill speaks French, English, and Lingala.
